چکیده
Buprenorphine is used in the opioid maintenance treatment for dependent patients, including pregnant women. Despite wide use, limited data exists on buprenorphine pharmacokinetics and fetal exposure during pregnancy. The aim of our study was to determine transdermal patch dosing sheep and, extent transplacental transfer fetus. Pregnant late gestation (n=50) received 20, 25 or 40 µg/h as a 7-day extended-release patch. Plasma samples were collected from ewe fetus days 1 – 6, norbuprenorphine concentrations determined. During period had surgical procedure second day, recovery phase, an experimental sixth day. Propofol Pharmacokinetics and Estimation of Fetal Propofol Exposure during Mid-Gestational Fetal Surgery: A Maternal-Fetal Sheep Model.
BACKGROUND Measuring fetal drug concentrations is extremely difficult in humans. We conducted a study in pregnant sheep to simultaneously describe maternal and fetal concentrations of propofol, a common intravenous anesthetic agent used in humans. Compared to inhalational anesthesia, propofol supplemented anesthesia lowered the dose of desflurane required to provide adequate uterine relaxation ...

Fentanyl is used for pain treatment during pregnancy in human beings and animals. However, fentanyl pharmacokinetics during pregnancy has not been fully established. The aim of this study was to characterize fentanyl pharmacokinetics in pregnant sheep after intravenous and transdermal dosing during surgical procedure performed to ewe and foetus. Pharmacokinetic parameters reported for non-pregn...

While selective-serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants are commonly prescribed in the treatment of depression, their use during pregnancy leads to fetal drug exposures. According to recent reports, such exposures could affect fetal development and long-term offspring health. A central question is how pregnancy-induced physical and physiological changes in mothers, fetuses, and the ...

Background Maternal-Fetal Attachment (MFA) behaviors play an essential role in adapting to maternal concepts and promote maternal and fetal health. Objective The present study aimed to determine the MFA and some related factors in pregnancy. Methods The present descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 200 pregnant women referring to health centers in Qazvin City, Iran, in 2015. A m...
متن کاملThe Oxygen Pressure Gradient Between the Maternal and Fetal Blood in Pregnant Sheep *
Recent studies on the relations of the fetal and maternal blood vessels in the cotyledonary placenta of the sheep (Barcroft and Barron') have demonstrated that the vessels are so arranged that the streams flow th.rough parallel cords of capillaries in opposite directions. This arrangement of the two sets of capillaries brings the fetal blood leaving the placenta in -relation to the maternal blo...
